General Hospital Recap August 1: Stone And Sonny Reunion – Hayden’s Dark Secret Revealed – Ava And Julian Discuss Sam

Tuesday’s August 1 episode of General Hospital begins with Ava (Maura West) putting her mask on as Julian (William DeVry) enters the room. Ava tells him that Sam (Kelly Monaco) was there earlier trash talking about Sonny (Maurice Benard). Julian tells Ava that Sam is in the hospital and may be dying. Sam contracted this illness from being pushed off the bridge by their sister.

Finn (Michael Easton) tells Curtis (Donnell Turner) he and Hayden (Rebecca Budig) are engaged. Curtis tells him about the breakup with Jordan (Vinessa Antoine) due to Aunt Stella. Finn tells Curtis not to let Stella stand in his way of being with Jordan.

Hayden tells Jared they are done with each other. She’s pregnant and going to marry the baby’s father. Jared reminds Hayden of how she was intoxicated while driving and hit a young girl. She did the crime but he did the time. Jared threatens Hayden to get the money she owes him or he’ll tell Finn there’s a little girl that will never walk again because of her.

Finn arrives to the new house with dinner. He uses an onion ring and asks Hayden to marry him. She hesitates and blames it on her past mistakes. Finn asks her again and she says yes.

Jordan tells Dante (Dominic Zamprogna) there is enough evidence to have Garvey (Rick Ravanello) arrested for kidnapping Spencer (Nicolas Bechtel) but nothing ties him to Sonny’s disappearance.

Carly (Laura Wright) demands Garvey tells her where Sonny is. Garvey tells Carly he killed Sonny. Carly threatens him as Dante walks in. Dante tells Carly to leave and call Michael (Chad Duell). Dante tells Garvey that Sonny is his father. He can leave a guard outside his room or just let Carly back in. As Garvey starts to talk he passes out. The doctor informs Dante that Garvey is bleeding internally and going back to surgery. He won’t be able to question Garvey until tomorrow.

Sonny hallucinates seeing Stone (Michael Sutton). Sonny asks if he’s there because he’s dying. Stone tells Sonny that’s up to him. Sonny was alone and afraid while being in the dark but doesn’t feel that way now. Sonny goes on to tell him how Morgan was named after his two best friends. Sonny wants to see Morgan.

Stone reminds Sonny of his other children and how much they need him. He goes on to tell Sonny to open his eyes and look up. Sonny’s freedom is right above him but he has to fight. Sonny wakes up and Stone is gone. Sonny struggles to stand up and keeps saying out loud to get up. Sonny starts climbing the wall as the wood around him starts creaking.

Michael tells Joss (Eden McCoy) that Garvey is on the loose and no one has seen Sonny. Joss feels guilty for bad mouthing Sonny. Carly arrives home and Joss apologizes for being so mean to her. Nelle (Chloe Lanier) tells Carly she is sorry for what they’re going through and starts to leave. Dante arrives to update them about Garvey’s surgery. Carly says they need to pray for Sonny’s safe return. They hold hands as Carly recites a prayer.
