General Hospital News: Stephen A. Smith Returns To Port Charles To Star With General Hospital's Sonny And Carly

Welcome back, Stephen A. Smith! That’s the sentiment from the actor’s General Hospital co-stars and fans as Stephen returns to Port Charles. Known for his appearances on the ESPN2 show First Take, Smith will slip back into his role as Brick, a surveillance expert working for Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard).
Maurice turned to his Instagram page to post the exciting news.

Brick Is Back!

“Guess what, people, Brick is back!” wrote Benard on the social media platform. The photo showed Maurice with Stephen and another General Hospital co-star, Matt Cohen (Griffin Munro). “What can I say, two really great guys.”

The character of Sonny wasn’t alone in welcoming Brick back to General Hospital, however. Laura Wright, who plays Carly Corinthos, also turned to social media to share her enthusiasm.

“Look who came out to play in Port Charles!” wrote Laura, flaunting her delight with hashtags “CarlysWorld” and “lovemyjob.”

Soap Opera Secrets!

Although ABC confirmed that Smith is returning to General Hospital, the rep kept the details under hospital covers. It is known, however, that Stephen will be visiting Port Charles in the role of Brick for the fifth time. Smith initially starred on General Hospital in March 2016. His most recent appearance was previously this year.  On Instagram, General Hospital fans expressed their excitement over Maurice’s announcement.

Team General Hospital!

“I’ve been a huge fan of yours since you started on GH! OMGGG! Your character is out of this world,” wrote one excited fan about the news of Stephen’s return to Port Charles.

“Oh my, hey Maurice looking good and your other co stars also!!!Team GH…” wrote another follower.

Laura received equal enthusiasm for her own General Hospital announcement about Smith.
“[Stephen A. Smith] is awesome!! Love him on GH,” wrote a fan in response.

Some even decided to use the announcement to suggest some plot twists and turns. One suggested using Stephen’s character to create jealousy.

“Should Sonny be worried?? Lol,” wrote a would-be soap opera plot writer.
