General Hospital Laura Wright Opens Up About Emotional Divorce And Reconnecting With Wes Ramsey

General Hospital’s Laura Wright admits that she’s gone through plenty of ups and downs over the course of the last few years but thankfully, she’s found her happy place. The blonde beauty credits her new partner Wes Ramsey for helping her put the pieces back to her life together after her emotional divorce from her ex-husband Jon Wright.

Laura shocked her fans when she announced her divorce from Jon back in 2016. The couple had been together since she was a teenager. Yet little did she know that love was waiting for her around the corner right after she reconnected with her former Guiding Light co-star, Wes Ramsey. During that same time, Laura says that she had gone through personal and emotional rollercoasters as she was trying to find herself in her new role as a “single, independent woman,” something that she’s never really experienced on her own before.

Despite her insecurities, her fears and her divorce, the soap opera star managed to find herself again. Laura explains that she finally had to learn how to “stop running” in order to start learning how to turn her wrongs into rights. She told Soap Opera Digest, “It’s a very interesting process, you know, to be in your 40s, getting divorced, being on a TV show, having kids going off to college and have to go, ‘Wow, who am I now?’ It was painful for me. I tried to run from it, probably for the first year and a half.”

Laura also says that she was able to tune out all of the background noise from her divorce by focusing on her work on General Hospital and of course, her relationship with Ramsey. And thankfully, it proved to be a great distraction for her when she needed it the most. She said, “It was the work I did, or who I became before I ran into him, that has made me happy.”
