When General Hospital spoilers revealed that Robert Palmer Watkins was leaving GH, fans were not happy about the shocking news. Robert Palmer Watkins has become a fan favorite among ABC soap viewers, and he has certainly made the role of Dillon Quartermaine his own over the last few years.
Robert Palmer Watkins seemingly confirmed the news of his exit on Twitter. But, now a new casting report from the September issue of Soap Opera Digest seems to indicate that Robert Palmer Watkins may not be leaving the soap.

According to SOD, Watkins won’t be officially exiting General Hospital, instead he will be bumped to recurring status. Believe it or not, a ton of General Hospital cast members are only on recurring status, so this could be a tiny light at the end of the tunnel. Sure, we still won’t be seeing as much of Watkins, but he could pop back up on our screens.
So far no one from the ABC soap opera has confirmed or cleared up the casting confusion. Check back with Soap Opera Spy for more GH spoilers right here!
