Take a deep breathe Emmerdale fans, we might be about to see another repeat of the terrible Coronation Street whodunit. Earlier this year Ken Barlow (William Roache) was pushed down a set of stairs on Corrie and then for months we were teased and quite frankly bored stiff until it was finally revealed.
Spoilers indicate that Emmerdale is going to do the very same thing over Emma Barton’s (Gillian Kearney) death. Now a good old murder mystery is no stranger to the soaps and they can be thrilling and entertaining. But sources have revealed that this story line is going to be dragged out for months to come!

Ian MacLeod (an Emmerdale Boss) told Metro that, “it’s going to be months rather than weeks.” Not the news we want to hear. How will they possibly keep our interest with the same story line for so long? There are multiple characters up for the title of murderer and it seems that this will take over the show up until Christmas!
Ian MacLeod insisted that there would be many twists and turns to keep us invested in finding out who it was, but did anybody care that Emma died in the first place? She was after all a murderer herself, she caused pain to almost everyone around her, and was quite frankly unlikable.

But, what will this mean for the culprit of Emma’s death? Well according to Ian there will have to be punishment. (Not that this is always the case in soaps). He said, “if you’ve got blood on your hands in a soap, you can’t just get away with it.” Which means that one of the suspects is likely to be sent to prison or in some way be off the show. But this exit is likely months away. Let’s hope that Emmerdale doesn’t fall into the same repetitive pit falls of Coronation Street and that this story line isn’t boring.
