Emmerdale Spoilers: Rapist Pierce To Walk Free After Vanessa Lies?

After Pierce (played by Jonathan Wrather) was finally arrested for the crimes he committed against his newly wed Rhona (played by Zoe Henry) we thought the story line would be wrapped up and done with. But alas it is not, Emmerdale spoilers tease that the evil man may walk free despite there being video evidence of him raping Rhona.

According to Emmerdale spoilers, Vanessa (played by Michelle Hardwick) may ruin the entire court case as she is going to lie to the court this week.

When Pierce’s barrister asks her an uncomfortable question she falls under pressure and it may be enough to see that man walk free. When under pressure she will lie and tell the judge that Pierce confessed to raping Rhona, which is very much not true.

Even though Vanessa thought this would help her best friend Rhona it will make Vanessa an untrustworthy witness making Rhona’s justice looking slim.

It isn’t long before she tells the court that he did not confide this information in her and then she is left looking a fool, with no credibility to anything else she has said.

It was important for Vanessa to tell the truth as now the entire case is tainted with her one lie; will this mean that the court will not arrest Pierce for the rape charge?

Emmerdale is trying to highlight the brutality of the law and how it should change in the future. Watching Rhona’s emotional struggle really shows the turmoil of the situation. It is highly unlikely that in the real world that Pierce would indeed be incarcerated, so what will happen on the show?
