Emmerdale Spoilers: Is Emma Barton Killed Off? Gillian Kearney’s Exit Looms

It’s no surprise that “Emmerdale’s” heroine Emma Barton is not long for the village. The talented actress who portrays her, Gillian Kearney, has acknowledged that her time on the soap is coming to a quick end, but it’s anyone’s guess as to how Emma will depart the canvas. Could it be in a pine box, with heinous repercussions for all involved?

Loyal viewers of the popular ITV soap anticipate that they’ll see the end of Emma’s storyline at any time now. Will her departure come in true soap opera fashion, with a dramatic crescendo and fiery aftermath?

Many fans would like for Emma to be able to see justice done in the killing of her husband James, something that cannot happen if she meets with fatal consequences. But that is a highly likely outcome if the current plotline stays true to form. Emma’s sons Finn and Ross have gotten themselves into a dangerous situation, one that will become more terrifying than they could have imagined.

When the two young men recently stumbled upon a marijuana growing operation, the owners were none too pleased. The pot dealers were as unhappy with the pair as they were shocked upon discovering the lush, green setup. Making matters worse, as if that were possible, Finn and Ross managed to embarrass the drug lords who didn’t take kindly to the brothers.

As payback, the dealers hunted Finn down and managed to wrangle the unwilling passenger into their car. Next they go about finding Ross. But instead, the two raggedy dealers encounter Emma’s car as they drive along, Finn strapped into the back seat.

The unsavory men believe that Ross is inside Emma’s car and run into it, resulting in a scary accident. Leaving Finn behind, the dealers approach the crashed car and unceremoniously drag a body outside.

At this point it’s unclear who this person is, but one thing is certain: a struggle ensues and Finn watches in horror as the victim is stabbed. Who was driving Emma’s car?
