Emmerdale Producers Set The Record Straight About Plans for Live Episode And Emma Barton Death Scene

It looks like ‘Emmerdale’ fans will have to wait before they can see their favorite soap opera drama live. New reports indicate that the show’s producers are not looking to have a live show anytime soon.

Earlier reports said that the soap was looking to kill off Emma Barton during a live show. Many believed that the live element would have added an extra edge to the scene.

According to Britain’s The Sun though, it’s not going to happen simply because it was way too much work and preparation for the case and crew.

One source close to the situation told the paper, “Emmerdale loves an ambitious stunt and this is something they’ve been discussing for some time. The last time they tried a live episode was in 2012 and it was a headache to plan and pull off but they managed it. They want to go one further this time and hope they will pull in viewers from other soaps.”

The last live episode happened during ‘Emmerdale’s 40^th anniversary. Several things happened at once: Gennie Walker went into labor, Carl King was murdered by Cameron Murray and Chas got attacked.

For a lot of fans, this is disappointing news as they were hoping to tune in to see villain Emma get killed off from the show. She pushed James Barton to his death back in October. Emma Barton has been rumored to be having a deadly end on the soap but it doesn’t look like it’s going to happen anytime soon. Of course, fans will just have to tune in to see what happens next.
