EastEnders Spoilers: Soap to Undergo Huge Changes?

The soap we have come to love may be due for an update according to Sean O’Connor, who has stated that the future of the square may not be what we’re used to. The boss has already made plenty of changes since he joined the soap including killing off a few characters who we wish had not left. Most notably Ronnie and Roxy.

But not all hope is lost, Sean has said that he intends to expand the show this Summer with immense and daring story lines.

EastEnders spoilers indicate that the show will also tug at our heartstrings as he plans on exploring a very big issue, diabetes. Which you may think is not the most interesting concept but it will resonate with fans.

Sean said that EastEnders is a mix of the “realistic and the gothic in the same week and sometimes even in the same episode,” which is what we have come to love about the soap.

That as well as the grand murders and scandalous love affairs there are real and gritty issues being spoken about and causing larger discussions.

Bex’s bullying story line really hit a nerve with fans and this seems to be the road that Sean is following now with Denise. The poor woman has hit poverty, unable to now feed herself, it looks likely that her story is going to be the next tear jerker.

Sean believes that the show should focus on not only cliff hangers and drama but also real life issues, saying “I think we need to be ourselves and go back to the origin of the show…it should be entertaining but it should also be informative.”
