EastEnders Spoilers: Soap Confirms Shock Return!

EastEnders Spoilers: Soap Confirms Shock Return! With EastEnders fan fave Masood Ahmed (Nitin Ganatra) back in Walford, an electrifying season just got even more exciting for devoted fans.

News of his return broke yesterday and Ganatra could not be happier about his return to Walford. In a heartfelt statement given to Digital Spy, the talented actor shared his joy and surprise at being asked to return to the hit BBC One sudser.

Ahmed left Walford last November, and his portrayer relayed that it was a lovely surprise to be back on set so soon after his departure.

In fact, the handsome star shared that he was, “bowled over,” by the request to bring Masood (and his goatee!) back to the Square.

According to Ganatra, show execs told him that not only was his character much missed by faithful fans, but that they feel Masood has much more to give in terms of storyline. We couldn’t agree more!

So what brings the returnee back to town? The show is building up Masood’s family and having him come back is the perfect way to introduce the new members.

Fans can look forward to Masood’s presence as well as his interaction with his extended family. The character debuted on EastEnders in 2007, and when he left Ganatra made it clear that he would leave the door open to a possible return.

“I’m still deeply in love with the character … I feel we have more to find in this character’s journey, but I just need to go off and do other things for a while,” he said at the time.

“So I’m not leaving for any bad reasons, aside from a need to go off and do other exciting projects.”

Viewers were caught by surprise this week when it was announced that Ben Mitchell (Harry Reid) will exit in an upcoming shock plot.

So while they may be grieving the loss of Ben, they now have the return of beloved Masood to look forward to.
