Many of you will recognise the name Rachel Stevens as the member of the famous pop group S-Club 7. The band formed in 1998 and were hugely popular until their break up in 2003. They were famous for their upbeat pop hits such as Reach, Don’t Stop Movin’ and Bring It All Back. They even branched out into TV and film in the early 2000’s. But now one of their members could potentially be heading into the world of soaps.
Rachel Stevens has had many meetings with the BBC discussing her potential to join EastEnders, she told The Sun that, “there have been a few times where there have been talked about it over the years.” But she also told them that ultimately the timing had never been right.

Rachel is now 39 but after S Club 7 she embarked on a small solo career including releasing her own music and she appeared on Strictly come Dancing in 2008. But now that she has been out of the lime light for a while it may be the perfect time to return to acting.
Rachel herself said, “there’s definitely been talks about it and it could happen,” which is a promising statement. The square could definitely use an infusion of new characters. With the Autumn drama set to be explosive and full of casualties it is promising that the BBC are scouting for new talent.
But this won’t be happening immediately as Rachel is partaking in this year’s MasterChef celebrity edition. She will be alongside big names such as Ulrika Jonsson [the TV presenter] and Rebecca Adlington [the Olympian]. The competition starts tonight and will run for twelve episodes. But perhaps after she has finished baking she will turn to EastEnders for a new career path?
