EastEnders Spoilers: Phil Mitchell To Finally Return!

Phil Mitchell is arguably one of EastEnders’ most iconic characters but he has been absent from our screens for far too long. He had suffered from a bout of alcoholism which lead to very serious consequences. But after a liver transplant will he return a different man? He has been hiding out in Italy to recover from surgery but the Soap regular is finally returning to the square.

We are very glad Phil will return but what will prompt this? According to Sean O Connor the show’s boss it will be to save his family.

What does the Summer have in store for the Mitchells? Have they not suffered enough with the loss of Peggy, Ronnie and Roxy last year?

Could the drama be centred around the younger generation of Mitchells who are attracting a lot of attention at the moment, Louise is making friends in the wrong places and Ben is also not making any progress with his life.

Phil is set to return later this month but will we still love him if he’s not the brutal criminal we’ve grown to love.

Since his beginning on the show Steve McFadden has played a very hard, emotionally vacant and often frustrating man.

But sources reveal that he will be a shell of his former self with a new appreciation for life. Will we like this more sensitive side of Phil or will we want him too loose his temper like old times.

Sean told the newspaper Metro that; “He is a changed Phil from the exhausted Lion that left the square.”

The change could be beneficial for his family it is no shock that his relationships with his children are strained due to his personality. With his focus usually on money or pride he has not been the most doting father but will that change now?
