EastEnders Spoilers: Lisa Faulkner OUT, Fi Browning Exits

In a move that everyone saw coming, a major star is headed out of EastEnders and Walford. Still, it didn’t hurt to hope against hope that the mega star would stay, right?

Well, the wishes were for naught, as Lisa Faulkner has confirmed to Radio Times that her short stint on the BBC One powerhouse has come to an end.

“We were always clear that there would be a beginning, middle and end,” she said, “Fi was coming in to do a job. She was never going to be a new regular living on the Square and I have absolutely loved it.”

As have viewers who were immediately caught up in Fi’s tornadic shenanigans at the Queen Vic bar. Faulkner’s character, Fi Browning, arrived cloaked in mystery but her complex layers have slowly been pulled back.

Most recently the blonde bombshell was revealed to be Posh Josh Hemmings’ (Eddie Eyre) sister, and before that she broke down when talking to Mick Carter (Danny Dyer) about her tangled past.

It’s now been revealed that her exit will get caught up in the epic storyline involving the return of super-evil James Willmott-Brown (William Boyde).

Last Friday the character returned to Walford 25 years after he raped Kathy Beale, and wouldn’t you know the sinister man figures into Max’ Branning’s (Jake Wood) almost year-long scheme to take over the Square.

Faulkner, star of Masterchef and Spooks, debuted earlier this year and has pivotal in Max’s plan to get revenge on the Walford residents who wrongfully imprisoned him.

How will the Max-Fi-James triangle play out? Those in charge aren’t spilling any explosive details yet, but the partnership doesn’t seem likely to end well for Fi.

For her part Faulkner is keeping a tight lid on things, too, teasing only, “I’m really pleased the secret about Willmott-Brown is now finally out, because it’s been so huge … It’s been the best fun to play … I’ve loved every single minute of it, I really have.”
