EastEnders Spoilers: Lee Ryan Scores EastEnders Contract – Woody Isn’t Going Anywhere!

It’s going to be a long, hot, steamy summer in Albert Square: Lee Ryan and his six-pack have just re-signed to hit soap, “EastEnders,” for at least another year! Fans of Ryan’s character Woody Woodward have cause for celebration, as the former Blue band member was initially slated as a temp cast member.

What changed? Ryan came on like a house on fire, and show bosses as well as viewers stood up and took immediate notice of the 33-year-old singer’s acting talents. His acting ability, as well as his enormous popularity with fans of the hit BBC One sudser have resulted in Ryan receiving a one-year contract. That’s a long way from coming on just as a manly bar presence in the absence of star Danny Dyer!

Showrunners brought Ryan into the fold while Danny Dyer was away on hiatus. Dyer portrays barkeep Mick Carter, and Harry ‘Woody’ Woodward, was meant to take up the slack in the meantime. What does Ryan think of his newly minted status as a series regular? He couldn’t be happier! The hunky actor is “delighted,” at the prospect of being a full-time Walford resident.

In an interview with Closer magazine, the actor said, “It was a dream come true when I landed the role so I am thrilled that this has now turned into something much bigger. It has been a surreal experience walking down the road and having people shouting ‘Woody’ at me but I cannot wait to get back in the Square to see what trouble he will cause this time round.”

Rumor has it that Woody will continue to set hearts racing, and that TPTB are set to unleash their newest star in a dramatic summer storyline. Will he continue his involvement with Whitney? It was their mutual attraction that caused Mick to go ballistic and kick him to the curb. We can’t wait to see how the scandal unfolds!
