Shocks don’t come any bigger than this, “EastEnders,” fans: could you believe it when posh Josh was revealed to be Mad Max’s boss? If Max is not behind the unfolding mysterious revenge plot, who is? Who knew that Josh from the big city was in charge of Max and Lauren? This can’t end well for either Branning, could it?
Fans were startled to discover Max telling Josh to give a job not to Lauren, but to someone else. In turn, Josh merely developed another job for Lauren; checkmate Max! Josh then came round and spilled the good news that Lauren would be made a Creative Team Assistant at Welland & Co.

Later Josh and Max met up outside the Queen Vic, and in no uncertain terms Josh laid down the law and made sure Max knew who was top dog! How surprised do you think Max was to be put in his place?
Look out Josh, Max doesn’t take kindly to being under someone else’s thumb. But there went Josh, getting up in Max’s face, telling him to never, ever again try and tell him what to do. He even took off his signature good-guy glasses to issue his warning!
But Josh ended things on a more civil note when he told Max that he had done a good job at the pub. Max is now in possession of the Queen Vic’s freehold, having convinced Shirley to sign it over to him. Of course, Shirley was under duress when she did so, and the whole transaction may not even be legit since she forged someone else’s name on the legal document!
So, if the whole Carter Revenge Plan is not actually Max’s baby, who’s really behind the takeover scheme? And what could this person possibly want to do with or to the bucolic town of Walford and the already besieged Carter family?
