It was just announced that both actresses will be leaving the soap, and soon. A source told the Mail online, “We can confirm that Jaqueline and Lorna will be leaving EastEnders. However, how they leave is very important. Will their characters exit the square alive or dead? Is there a chance that they can ever come back? This is not the first time a Branning has left, with Max (Jake Wood) in and out of prison, Tanya (Jo Joyner) returning intermittently and even Lauren herself who went to Australia for months on end. We can never rule out a dramatic return in a few years’ time.

But a source told The Sun, “It will be one of the biggest on-screen moments of the year.” Which in soap world probably means a death or two. With the show desperate to up ratings they are really trying to increase the drama, the fire last week proving successful. But what do the bosses have in store for the Branning sisters?

It seems most likely that their father Max will somehow be involved in their exit. With Max spiraling out of control after the fire there is no telling what he will do next. We know that Lauren and Abi are on his revenge list, but is he so evil that he will kill his own daughters? The two sisters are going to get into a huge fight this week over Steven Beale’s (Aaron Sidwell) death, which will be the catalyst to their end story line.  Do you want the Branning sisters to leave the show?
