Could Dot Cotton’s (June Brown) beloved cat be the death of her on “EastEnders?” Dramatic photos just released from the set show the grand old lady lying prone on the floor, having been tripped up by her black moggie!
No doubt her cat has a guilty conscience, because he is seen squeezing his furry body against his owner’s side, and she obviously holds no grudges since she is clutching tightly onto the furry boy! But the scene looks dire as the elderly lady cannot move, and she has quite a look of fright in her eyes. Will Dot make it out of her scary fall alive? We can reveal that Sonia Jackson (Natalie Cassidy), Dot’s step granddaughter finds her, but what damage has been done, we do not know.

Luckily Sonia is a nurse, and she calls straight away for the ambulance to pick Dot up and take her to the hospital. But Dot can’t walk on her own, and not only does she need a stretcher, she is drifting in and out of consciousness.
Once in the hospital Dot receives excellent care, but a visit by Jack Branning (Scott Maslen) lifts her spirits. Nonetheless, the frail lady looks confused as they talk at her bedside. The indomitable, 91-year old June Brown debuted on the hit BBC One sudser in 1985. She was 58-years old then, and was initially meant to portray a temporary character.

Dot was brought on when her son Nick Cotton (John Altman) was accused of murder. But the religious, chain smoking Dot quickly became a huge hit with fans, and she was granted a contract on the super soap. She has been a fan favorite ever since, with only a brief hiatus in 2012. That year Brown was absent for six months while she worked on her memoirs. Speculation has begun about when the veteran actress will exit, but at this point we hope she continues on as Dot for many years to come!
