For the past few months we have followed Bex (Jasmine Armfield)and her harrowing story but it was not until last week when it all came crashing down. The relentless bullying became physical in a scene many viewers found uncomfortable.
The bullying began after Louise Mitchell (played by Tilly Keeper) sent inappropriate messages of Bex and her ex-boyfriend Shakil. That lead to isolation at school and now even a very violent physical scene. Bex was dragged into a bathroom, her shirt torn and the word “dirty” drawn upon her head.

The bullies in question, Madison and Alexandra, have been tormenting Bex for weeks with verbal abuse and cyber harassment, but it was not until this point that they showed their true colours. She was left in tears, half-dressed until a member of staff found her.
Thankfully the poor girl is now finally receiving support from her family and her school but only at this point, she has been entirely alone for the duration of this. With her father Martin Fowler (James Alexandrou) handling the situation completely the wrong way, shouting at her for missing school and not listening when she did try to tell him what was happening to her.

It has been a wholly emotional story line, so much so that the BBC showed telephone numbers of bullying helplines at the end of the episode. The show is hinting at revenge for the two girls but with possible redemption for Louise who has been peer pressured into her actions, showing guilt on multiple occasions. But will she get dragged down with them, will the show make a statement that any bullying should be punished?
Bullying might not be the end of the struggle for Bex (her current boyfriend) when this week the devious Preston will reveal that his secret love affair with Michelle Fowler, which is only going to lead to extended heartbreak for the already broken girl.
