‘EastEnders’ Spoilers: Ben Hardy Returns To BBC In Exciting New Role

There’s good news for, “EastEnders,” fans, favorite son Ben Hardy is returning to the BBC in a lead role after a star turn in Hollywood. He will next be seen in the psychological thriller, “The Woman in White.”

“The Woman in White,” is regarded by some as the first psychological thriller novel! The haunting story follows protagonist Walter Hartright as he suddenly finds himself in the middle of a strange, eerie world.

Hardy will portray the confused Hartright whose life is turned upside down one night after a mysterious encounter with a lady dressed in white.

The fascinating storyline includes plenty of danger, suspense and romance, as Hartright confronts elements of his own identity and sanity.

Viewers are guaranteed a spine-tingling journey into the gloomy paths and hallways of English country houses, right into the darkness of a classic Victorian madhouse.

For his part, Hardy could not be happier to be back home and working on the BBC drama. “I have always admired and been a fan of the BBC’s period dramas and I’m so thrilled to be playing the leading role of Walter in this classic story,” he told Metro.co.uk.

Viewers of, “The Woman in White,” will be treated to another familiar face, as Jessie Buckley will play Marion opposite Hardy. The young actress’s credits include a star turn in, “War And Peace,” and she’s currently appearing in the Tom Hardy drama, “Taboo.”

Marion is a character unique to her time, unrestricted by social mores and expectations. It should be eye-opening to see how the young Marion navigates the Victorian world in which she lives, especially after her encounter with Hardy’s Hartright.

“The Woman in White,” is directed by Carl Tibbetts and has begun filming on location in Belfast. The drama will air in five parts, and is sure to be a crowd pleaser for fans of suspense, mystery, and period-piece dramas.
