EastEnders Spoiler: Tamzin Outhwaite Returns To Walford

EastEnders spoilers have showed us a rather ominous trailer. There was a quick shot at the Walford train station accompanied by the clip clop of high heeled shoes. But what does this mean? What are they hinting at?

Well some fans thought they had figured out the nine second clip. Many believed it would be the return of a very big character! But who could it be? Perhaps Janine Butcher (Charlie Brooks) or one of the dead Mitchell sisters as this rumour has been flying around for a while.  Or maybe Kat (Jessie Wallace) and Alife (Shane Richie) are finally coming back?

EastEnders spoilers on the official Twitter account have revealed, “*Breaking News* she’s baaaack!! The wait was worth it, this is going to be AMAZING! #Coming soon.” They have officially announced that the returning actress is Tamzin Outhwaite!  She is of course Melanie Owen. She will be returning to the square very soon!

She was on the show over fifteen years ago and will be returning as a regular character. Tamzin said this about her role, “EastEnders is in my DNA and I always knew deep down that someday I would revisit Mel.”  She also said that she was “honoured” to be asked back. We last saw her when she flew the country, avoiding time in prison. What has she been doing all this time?

Are you excited to see Mel make some drama, she is certain to drag old skeletons out of closets? Especilaly with the Mitchells! They didn’t leave on the best of terms! And John Yorke (EastEnders creative director) has promised that this will bring “new adventures” for Mel.
