‘EastEnders’ News: Will Shrimpy Get His Own Storyline On BBC Soap?

Ladies love the strong, silent type, so say, “EastEnders,” fans who can’t get enough of stoic stallkeeper Shrimpy! Fans of the fresh-faced young man are flooding social media with tweets demanding, “please give Shrimpy a damn storyline.” Well, that’s one way to get noticed!

For weeks now, fans of the BBC One soap have been treated to regular, if hushed, appearances by the enigmatic Shrimpy. On the Valentine’s Day episode, viewers saw proof that the bearded shopkeep has a sweet spot for Donna Ludlow. Aw!

Although Shrimpy was keen to give Donna a box of candy, he wasn’t quite ready to reveal himself as her suitor.

Wishing to remain anonymous, Shrimpy arranged for Tina Carter to give Donna her sweet treat.

Despite his duplicity, it seems that Donna was far from sad to learn that Shrimpy is newly single (if not quite ready to mingle!). In fact, she was downright happy to learn that the lad is on the market, as her comments to Kush indicated.

Nonetheless, Donna’s mood took a turn downward when Shrimpy failed to respond to her text. Instead of celebrating Valentine’s Day with a glass of bubbly and some Shrimpy, Donna found herself alone and lonely at the Queen Vic.

Apparently, Donna is not the only one with a fondness for the mysterious Shrimpy and his silent charms. One fan tweeted, “Low key have an awkward crush on Shrimpy in EastEnders,” after the episode aired.

Another besotted viewer wrote, “Whoever Shrimpy was dating was cold hearted, dumping him the weekend before Valentine’s Day.” 

One fan of the long-running soap summed it up best by writing, “Shrimpy the ladies man? #EastEnders.”
