EastEnders News: Lee Ryan Rushed To Hospital

“EastEnders” star Lee Ryan is recovering after being rushed to a London hospital due to complications from tonsillitis. The 33-year old Blue singer reportedly developed quinsy, a condition in which a cyst forms between the throat and tonsils. This latest diagnosis comes almost two years after doctors found another cyst in his throat, which was removed due to cancer concerns.

According to The Sun, Lee will be hospitalized for approximately one week. A source close to the heartthrob said that the actor/singer is in considerable pain. “He has been unable to talk, swallow or eat so doctors decided to drain his throat to try and alleviate the pain. It is extremely scary for Lee as his throat is a very sensitive place after his recent cancer scare.”

Lee’s voice is primary to both his singing and acting careers so no doubt his latest medical issue is cause for concern. Lee and his band had to end a planned 2015 tour due to his prior throat surgery.

Lee’s character Woody Woodward is set to return to “EastEnders,” later in the year. The bad boy barman was kicked to the curb when his boss Mick Carter found him canoodling with Whitney, Mick’s daughter-in-law. Mick was especially irked at the racy sight because he himself has designs on the lovely lady. It’s uncertain at this time how Lee’s surgery might affect his return to the hit BBC One sudser.

The medical crisis comes at an emotional low point for the star, who recently ended his relationship with 27-year old Jaime-Lee Faulkner, the former Miss Universe Great Britain. The handsome couple were a serious item for a few weeks, and were photographed together in late May at Radio 1’s Big Weekend, where they watched Kings of Leon perform. Lee has a son, Rayn, from his previous relationship with hairdresser Samantha Miller. We wish the talented star a speedy recovery, and a quick return to doing what he does best!
