‘EastEnders’ News: Has BBC Soap Opera Become Too Dark And Violent – Fans Upset After Bloody Teen Fight Scene

Is the beloved BBC1 soap, “EastEnders,” becoming far too violent? It is according to viewers shocked by the show’s latest violent and bloody scenes featuring a fight among school kids.

The fight was preceded by an unsavory circumstance involving revenge porn, another sensitive topic for viewers of the family hour show.

This latest wave of onscreen violence comes in the wake of the show’s recent epic bus crash fiasco that saw outraged viewers express similar levels of heated angst.

In both instances, fans were quick to use online forums to condemn what they view as gratuitous, needless mayhem.

In particular, they’ve taken exception to the show’s barbaric acts being committed in such an early television time slot.

One unhappy fan tweeted, “#Eastenders fight scene outside school TOO VIOLENT BY FAR!!! Not happy.”

Another tweet read, “That was bloody violent for 8.10pm!!! #Eastenders.”

In the latest EastEnders episode, Shakil Kazemi was shown being beaten to a pulp by another pupil, with blood covering the boy’s visage. The beating came at the end of a day in which naked pictures of Kush’s brother were circulated online.

He was set upon after enduring much abuse from schoolmates and when Shakil was too embarrassed to tell the truth about why he was fighting, he was punished with isolation.

To further add insult to injury, the pictures were gained in an unscrupulous manner by Louise Mitchell, who stole Bex Fowler’s phone in order to humiliate Shakil.

Because Shakil and Bex had freely exchanged intimate pictures of themselves, he believed all along that Bex was behind the betrayal.

So, “EastEnders,” fans what do you think of the recent spate of violent scenes pervading your favorite drama? Are the graphic scenes too insensitive, especially during their early time slot? Or is the violence necessary to adequately depict the serious, gloomy, storylines?
