EastEnders Dean Gaffney Faces A Driving Ban

The past EastEnders star Dean Gaffney has been in trouble with the police over a driving scandal. He has refused to name the person driving his car when it was caught speeding. And failed to show up to trail where he would have been questioned. This saga started all the way back in January 2016 and is yet to be resolved.

Dean Gaffney played Robbie Fowler in EastEnders a loveable yet rough character who often got himself in trouble. Is the actor taking after his former character?

Gaffney’s Mercedes was caught by a speed camera doing 38 mph in a 30mph area in Merseyside in the early hours of the morning. Something seems amiss as the soap star would not name anybody when questioned by the police.

Which leads us to believe he is not the only person involved in this case. Even more suspiciously Gaffney did not turn up to court again this month. Doesn’t scream innocence even though he originally pleaded not guilty.

However, the soap star claimed his absence was due to work. As he was not there in person the court found it easy to prove him guilty. The star was fined a thousand pounds and then banned from driving any vehicles for 9 months.

How will this affect his role on EastEnders? It has been known that his character would return to the square later this year. But will this minor crime make the bosses think twice about him? But Gaffney did spend eleven years on the soap during his youth, the show may be loyal to the actor due to his time in the square.

It will be interesting to see how similar Robbie Fowler slips back after 14 years away, what has he done with his life and will the Fowler family welcome him back with open arms?
