EastEnders’ Davood Ghadami Joins Strictly Come Dancing Cast

EastEnders' Davood Ghadami Joins Strictly Come Dancing CastDavood Ghadami (Kush Kazemi) is the latest EastEnders star to put on his dancing shoes as it’s just been announced that he’s signed on for the current season of Strictly Come Dancing. The multitalented celeb follows in the famous footsteps of fellow soap star Kara Tointon (Dawn Swann), who won the trophy in 2010.

Past Albert Square residents who have participated in the mega hit show include 2015 runner-up Kellie Bright (Linda Carter) and Tameka Empson (Kim Fox), who was voted out second in 2016. I have a feeling that it’s time for an EastEnders actor to take home the big prize this year!

Strictly Come Dancing has also announced that The Saturdays singer Mollie King will appear on the show. The 35-year-old Davood says that being on the hit dancing phenomenon is an exciting honor, and admits that he’ll have to brush up on his ballroom and Latin moves. “It’s going to be … challenging and terrifying all at once and I am so looking forward to stepping out of my comfort zone and learning to dance,” said Davood. “See you under the glitterball!”

Charismatic Davood debuted on the BBC One sudser in 2014 and quickly became a fan favorite. The suave Kush is popular among the ladies, and no doubt Davood will enjoy the same kind of success when Strictly Come Dancing premieres in a few weeks. Davood has won the Best Newcomer award at the TV Choice Awards, and was nominated for Best Newcomer and Best Actor at the British Soap Awards.

According to the Sun, an inside source said that Davood was an obvious choice to join the popular dancing show, noting that the soap hunk will be, “this year’s heartthrob and bosses are delighted he’s signed up.” The source went on to note that soap stars have done particularly well on the show, and Davood should be no exception. We can’t wait to catch a double dose of dancing Davood and his alter ego Kush this fall!
