Tripp was supposed to be dead, just like his mother Ava (Tamara Braun). But the petty conman with the killer smile is alive and well, and snooping around Salem.
The spawn of Merchant Marine Steve and gangstress Ava was believed to have died as an infant, but Steve’s paternal instinct recently led him to discover that the twentysomething is alive and well.
Steve brought Tripp, and the huge chip sitting on his shoulder, home so that his two sons and wife Kayla (Mary Beth Evans) could bond like a real family. But that skeleton in the closet keeps rattling its bones, and Tripp wants to know what all the noise is about!
Thus far the few people who know that Joey (James Lastovic) killed Ava have kept their mouths shut. But his spurned girlfriend Jade is a loose cannon, and when she lets something slip in front of Tripp, the secret could be a thing of the past.
What will happen if Tripp discovers the truth? He already hates Steve for killing the mom he thinks was a saint (not!), and now he has Ava’s fortune to buy whatever he wants.

Making matters worse, J.J. (Casey Moss) reaches out to his uncle Steve for help on a critical police case. But with Steve embroiled in his own troubles, will he fail to recognize J.J.’s plight, leading to another Salem tragedy?
