Days of Our Lives Spoilers: Is Kayla Being Selfish? Fans React to Her Blasting Steve and Tripp

“Days of Our Lives” spoilers teased that Steve “Patch” Johnson (Stephen Nichols) and Kayla Johnson (Mary Beth Evans) would go through a difficult time. After a recent episode, fans began debating over Kayla’s outburst. Were her harsh words understandable or is she being selfish?

On one hand, it is understandable why Kayla is so upset. She is grieving the loss of her son. Even though he didn’t pass away, he has to spend time in prison. It is something she is trying to deal with. Like many people, it is easier for her to blame somebody than to accept that her son committed a crime.

After seeing Steve and Tripp talk at Brady’s Pub, it enraged her. “Days of Our Lives” spoilers revealed that Tripp would try to make amends. However, Kayla refused his offer of donating his entire inheritance. What makes this interesting is that she won’t accept his money, but did accept DiMera money at one time.

On social media and in soap opera forums, people are talking about Kayla’s reaction to Steve and Tripp. First, she blasted her husband and kept saying that Joey was “her” son. Even though she did raise Joey on her own for most of his life, Steve has tried his best to be there now. He can’t take back the past. In all honesty, Steve is the only one thinking about what is best for Joey.

Prison might not be ideal, but it was killing Joey to carry the secret and guilt. It was obvious he was going into a deep depression. If it continued much longer than it had, who knows what Joey would have done to try to deal with the pain.

As far as Tripp is concerned, he really messed up. Fans seem to understand why Kayla doesn’t want to forgive him. After the things, he did and nearly killing Kayla, her unwillingness to believe him is reasonable. However, at some point, she will need to accept him since he is Steve’s son. It doesn’t mean she has to trust him, but she will have to get over her hatred eventually.
