On, “Days of Our Lives,” Eric Brady (Greg Vaughn) has done the time for his crime, and now he’s back home. But is Salem ready for the new and improved ex-priest? Gone is the choir boy demeanor and in its place is a rough-hewn man haunted by the DUI death of his best friend.
Eric wasn’t thinking when he got behind the wheel drunk, and unfortunately his irresponsible actions resulted in the death of beloved Dr. Daniel Jonas (Shawn Christian). Eric was sentenced to prison and duly served his time. But is the former alcoholic truly reformed, or is the ex-con going to punish himself for all the days of his life?

Prior to donning his prison stripes, Eric and saintly Jennifer Horton (Melissa Reeves) had a roll in the hay. At the time both addicts were in the throes of their individual addictions, but there seemed to be a genuine spark between them despite the foggy haze surrounding the pair.
Since that time both parties have cleaned up their acts. When Jennifer learned that Eric was a free man she offered him a job at the hospital, but Eric refused, saying that he was unworthy to be in the presence of those who had loved and revered Dr. Daniel.
However, after a heartfelt talk with Daniel’s mom Maggie (Suzanne Rodgers), Eric realized that his self-flagellation was just a stumbling block to helping others. Prior to getting her forgiveness, Eric had counseled another DUI offender who was in the same boat as Eric had been, and it felt good to do good.

Now that he’s ready to be of service again, Eric went back and accepted Jennifer’s offer. The blonde widow was thrilled, and obviously happy at the prospect of being in his orbit.
