According to an all new report, Days of Our Lives exec Bruce Evans has been named as the new EVP Current Programming at NBC. Evans is replacing Vernon Sanders, who has vacated his role to become a producer.
Deadline confirmed the news today, and Jennifer Salke shared this statement regarding the big change, “”There was never a moment that I didn’t see Bruce as the natural successor as head of our current business. His remarkable skill set shines through in managing many of our biggest shows and I’m thrilled we’ll be able to work even more closely together moving forward.”
The fate of Days of Our Lives has been up in the air for years, however we can all agree that the storylines have seen some major improvements since Carlivati took over. Bruce Evans’ appointment as EVP Current Programming could actually be a blessing in disguise for the soap opera since he has worked on DOOL as an executive for years already.
