‘Days Of Our Lives’ News: Martha Madison Returns To DOOL As Belle Black

There’s good news to report on the, “Days of Our Lives,” front, one of Salem’s legacy characters is set to return in January.

Martha Madison will reprise her role of lawyer Belle Black on the NBC soap beginning this month. There’s no official word yet as to how long the spawn of Marlena Evans (Deirdre Hall) and John Black (Drake Hogestyn) will stick around Salem, but there’s lots for her to do if she decides to settle in.

Upon her return, Belle will discover that her teen daughter Claire (Olivia Rose Keegan) is running amok without proper parental guidance. Claire recently lied to her grandfather in order to score $200 bucks for a recording device used to bug an innocent woman.

Then there’s the fact that she’s got two half-brothers currently involved in front burner storylines, Paul Narita (Christopher Sean) and Brady Black (Eric Martsolf). With Paul snooping around the docks for illegal merchandise and Brady with his explosive temper, one of them is bound to need a lawyer soon!

Then again, her ex-mother-in-law Hope Brady (Kristian Alfonso) could really use a competent lawyer to get her out of that prison rat hole she’s in!

Madison announced news of her return to the soap by posting a celebratory tweet, “Guess who’s baaack!” 

Her initial stint as Belle lasted four years, from 2004 to 2008. She returned in November 2015 for a shorter run that lasted until September 2016.

Madison has kept herself busy in her time away from DOOL; She and her husband A.J. Gilbert run an L.A. restaurant, Pata Salada.

So, DOOL fans, what do you think Belle Black will get up to when she returns to town? Would you like to see her put her errant daughter Claire back in line? Or maybe rekindle (yet again) her romance with ex-husband (Brandon Beemer)?
