Days of Our Lives Joey Heads To Jail – James Lastovic Final Scenes Brilliant

Days of Our Lives actor James Lastovic caused a big splash when he debuted as Joey Johnson, Patch (Steve Nichols) and Kayla’s (Mary Beth Evans) son. He played Joey’s teen angst to the hilt, blaming both of his confused parents for his unhappiness. Now his story has come full circle, and Joey is set to depart Salem a man that his parents can be proud of.

Lastovic did a fine job bringing SORAS’d Joey to life. It was a pleasure to see the Johnson family back together in Salem, albeit often times under stained circumstances; not the least of which was down to Joey’s antics!

But now he must do the time for his crime and Joey is off to jail for killing mean mobstress Ava (Tamara Braun). But don’t think that the backlash from Joey’s murdering ways is over with his admittance to the state pen. Oh no, the real reckoning is about to come home to roost once Joey’s parents face off in his absence.

Kayla fought tooth and nail to keep him out of jail, while Patch supported Joey’s decision to ‘fess up.

Look for the married couple to hit hard times in the coming weeks, as they must find a way to cope with the loss of their son. Both veteran actors will bring everything they’ve got to the powerful scenes, and as a fan, I can’t wait!

For his part, Lastovic breathed color and life into a character who struggled to make good decisions. It will be sad to see him leave our TV screens, but he’s brought an undeniable passion to his final scenes, and he should be especially proud of the way we’ll remember Joey thanks to his sensitive portrayal.

The scene in which he told his despairing mom that she was the reason why he had to turn himself in for Ava’s murder is memorable for all the right reasons. Lastovic’s steady and confident monologue about how Joey stole money from his grandma as a kid was spectacular and showed off his impressive growth as an actor.
