Days of Our Lives (DOOL) Spoilers: Kassie DePaiva Explains Why She Stayed Heavy in Early Career

Days of Our Lives spoilers have been teasing the return of Eve Donovan, portrayed by Kassie DePaiva. She is an actress that is known as being beautiful, talented and in great physical shape. So, it sounds strange to fans that she considered herself “heavy” in her early career. She explained what she meant and how her perception has changed.

30 years ago, DePaiva spoke with Soap Opera Digest about her early career. In an attempt to protect herself, she stayed on the heavier side. Now, to us, the actress has never been “heavy.” However, Hollywood has a different idea of what that means, as everyone knows. Back in 1987, Kassie DePaiva explained her reasoning.

“I stayed heavy so that if I failed, I could blame it on my weight, not because my singing or my acting wasn’t good. I was really afraid, lonely and having trouble adjusting to the fact that I really was on my own. I was surrounded by beautiful people and constantly wondering, ‘Am I good enough?’”

Everyone has insecurities and celebrities are no different. Recently, the same magazine asked Kassie DePaiva if her outlook has changed. Days of Our Lives spoilers state she credits being older and wiser for giving her more confidence.
However, she admits that back in her youth, she had a lot of anxiety. Sometimes, she still does.

“I’m more comfortable now in who I am, so I’m not as anxious, but I still get nervous with the countdown on the set.”

Days of Our Lives spoilers confirmed the return of Eve Donovan last week. It was also revealed that she is on contract. So, expect to see plenty of the actress in scenes with Victor Kiriakis (John Aniston) and Brady Black (Eric Martsolf.) Also, expect to see her interact with several other Salemites.
