Coronation Street’s Nicola Thorp Puts Producers, Executives and Directors On Blast, She’s Been Sexually Harassed

Coronation Street star Nicola Thorp (Nicola Rubenstein) has put television producers, executives and directors on blast with a series of angry messages on Twitter with claims that she too was sexually harassed and pressured for sex by industry insiders. She made the revelation after many Hollywood actresses admitted that they were harassed or assaulted by producer Harvey Weinstein for nearly three decades.

The young actress, who plays Nicola Rubinstein on Coronation Street, said that she’s faced several different forms of harassment since she was a teen. She alleged that one broadcaster called her in the middle of the night and said he wanted to sleep with her while another director urged her to wear a bikini to an audition for a coffee ad.

Nicola wrote, “F**k you to the broadcaster who called me about a ‘potential project’ at 1am then told me he had wanted to sleep with me when he met me…” along with, “F**k you to the director who got 21 y/o me to audition before him in a bikini then blow up a balloon til it burst in my face for a coffee ad.”

She also recalled the time that she was trapped inside a restroom by a restaurant manager when she was just a teenager. She said, “F**k you to the restaurant manager who trapped 18 y/o me in a toilet cubicle and wouldn’t let me out unless I kissed him.”

If that weren’t enough, Nicola also said that a married television director harassed her with messages, asking her if she had feelings for him. When she said that she didn’t, he threatened to destroy her career.
