Coronation Street Spoilers: Peter Barlow And Billy Mayhew Set To For Intense Christmas Storyline

Coronation Street spoilers say that the ghost of Billy Mayhew’s (Daniel Brocklebank) past might be making an appearance on the Cobbles, making this holiday season one of the most intense ones yet. Producers tease that this Christmas will be full of big surprises and comebacks as some familiar faces will be making their way back on to the small screen.

According to Britain’s The Sun, Coronation Street producers, Kate Oates also says that Peter Barlow (Chris Gascoyne) will be in for an exciting Christmas as a family member is set to return. In fact, she even calls the upcoming storyline a “Peter Barlow Extravaganza.”

She told the site, “We’ve got a certain Connor returning and I believe you can guess who I’m talking about. It’s going to be a really intense Christmas where the ghosts of Billy’s past come back to haunt him and some nice intense stuff for the Barlows so yeah it’s going to be exciting.”

Of course, a lot of fans have already figured that Kate is talking about Carla Connor. Actress Alison King, who plays Carla, is set to return after an 18-month absence. She was spotted filming scenes with her on-screen brother, Aiden Connor (Shayne Ward).

What’s more, Kate says that it’s time to break new ground for Carla, as she’s dealt with plenty of family drama and self-destruction to last a lifetime. She said, “Carla is a hugely popular character with viewers, and Kate always felt it was a shame Ali left. So when the opportunity to talk to her came up, she was delighted. For a few months now they have been in secret talks and the word among the cast is that Ali has agreed.”
