Coronation Street Spoilers: Nathan Is Finally Arrested, Will Justice Be Served?

On “Coronation Street,” Bethany’s (Lucy Fallon) grooming ordeal finally ended with Nathan Curtis’ (Chris Harper) arrest on Wednesday night’s episode. Or did it?

Lo and behold, Nathan seems to have connections everywhere, even the police station!

Yes, Nathan was arrested for running an illicit sex trafficking organization but when victim Bethany arrived at the police station, the cop who took her testimony was Nathan’s friend, Neil (Ben Cartwright). In fact, evil Neil was one of the men who previously raped the young woman at one of Nathan’s parties. This can’t end well.

The good news is that Bethany’s abusive “fiancé” was actually arrested before he was able to send the teen abroad and away from her suspicious friends and family.

But with Bethany as a witness, will the charges stick when she gives police a bogus story? At the station, Neil watched as Bethany recounted a spun version of what had happened to her.

Clearly the girl was intimidated by her surroundings and the appalling situation she’s in, not to mention being hoodwinked by Nathan. Still, viewers who have watched this spellbindingly horrific story unfold for months, found something to cheer about in last night’s turn of events.

“YES! Nathan got nicked! I hope Bethany’s hell is over now! #Corrie,” tweeted one viewer. Another added, “Just wanted to give Bethany a huge hug after tonight’s scenes, brilliant performance from Lucy Fallon.”

Loyal fans were also spirited by what transpired earlier in the week, when it appeared that Lucy was finally figuring out just what a monster Nathan is. Poor Lucy was trembling as walked into a service station and asked a stranger for help rather than let Nathan ship her off to Belgium.

Her suspicions began to surface when the cruel cad told her that she would be leaving the country alone, and then took her phone away from her. But with Nathan’s influence infiltrating all the way to the authorities at the police station, is Bethany’s ordeal really over?
