“Coronation Street,” fans were left surprised after learning that Ken’s grandson Adam wasn’t the one pushed him down a flight of stairs, but shocked to discover who did: his own son Daniel!
The Ken Barlow whodunit has captivated viewers for months now, with half of the town on the suspect list. So it was with some relief, and a bit of dismay, that the epic mystery finally wrapped up, revealing that Daniel was the perp.

Daniel was shown fetching a book that was hidden away, and also covered in blood. The bad seed opened the cover, and re-wrote the inscription from the old book into a brand new volume. The inscription had been written by Ken.
Corrie execs later revealed via the show’s Twitter page that the bloody book was the weapon that Daniel had used to conk Ken on the head!
The old man subsequently took a tumble, and had to be hospitalized. But before Ken was found, floppy-haired Daniel can be seen hovering over the body, and then deciding to leave him to suffer the consequences. Cold!
In the clip posted to Twitter, Daniel’s portrayer Rob Mallard comes clean about his part in the infamous storyline: “The truth’s out… it was me. I had to keep it a secret from cast members, from family, from people on the street trying to drag it out of me… from grandma – sorry grandma!”
But will Daniel come clean to his loved ones about his guilt? Onscreen his culpability is still hidden, and now Ken believes that Adam was the one who tried to kill him.
In the beginning Daniel was a potential suspect due to Ken’s outrageous interference in his life. Ken wanted Daniel to go to college but the scenario changed once his girlfriend Sinead became pregnant.

How long will it take for Ken to discover the truth? And what ominous fate awaits Daniel once the world knows what he’s done?
