Coronation Street Spoilers: Is Rita Showing First Signs of Dementia?

Coronation Street spoilers indicate that there is a big storyline in the pipeline for a Weatherfield legend. And according to viewers, they believe their beloved Rita might be taking a turn for the worse. Actress Barbara Knox plays the character on the hit ITV series.

During the August 16 episode, many viewers couldn’t help but notice a chance in Rita’s behavior. Not only did she turn on Gemma, but she also didn’t believe her when she tried to convince Rita that she had nothing to do with her shop getting ransacked. In addition, she also denied taking the £100 from Rita’s prose. Gemma was left absolutely devastated over the fact that Rita didn’t believe her, especially since the two have been so close for so many years.

But this turn of events might be for a good reason. For some fans, they believe that this might be the beginning stages of dementia for Rita. A lot of viewers have taken to social media to leave comments such as, “Not liking this change in Rita. I hope it’s not dementia. Would be absolutely devastating,” along with, “@itvcorrie if you’re going down the dementia road with Rita, I need to know! She’s a legend! Can’t be springing that on folk!”
