Coronation Street Spoilers: Did Claire King Quit Corrie To Return To Emmerdale?

Hot on the heels of Claire King announcing her exit from, “Coronation Street,” comes speculation that she’s set to join competing soap “Emmerdale.” Could the blond beauty have been planning a strategic departure all along?

Claire King has portrayed gutsy Erica Holroyd on the ITV sudser for the past three years. Prior to that she was uber-popular as Kim Tate on, “Emmerdale.” There’s no doubt that fans would love to see the multi-talented actress back on the show where she lit up the screen night after night.

During her time on Corrie Erica was involved with Nick Tilsley (whose portrayer, Ben Price, is also set to depart the cobbles) and in an emotional storyline in which she dealt with the aftermath of losing her baby. Erica also had a shady side, which she put on display as Izzy Armstrong’s marijuana connection. Now she’s in a relationship with her BFF, Dev.

However all is not well with the connection, and Erica takes drastic measures when she discovers that Dev is taking her for granted. As a result, the disappointed lady turns to mechanic Kevin Webster.

Show bosses tease that the upcoming plotline will be full of exciting drama, certainly worthy of the veteran actress’s immense talent. But what’s next for the soap vet? Might a return to Emmerdale be in the cards? Fans have been quite vocal about their desire to see her back on her old show, with many speculating online that her return is imminent!

One viewer tweeted, “It wouldn’t be outside the realms of possibility for Claire to go back, especially given that the ownership of Home Farm will be up for grabs again soon,” and another speculated, “Her return would no doubt boost ratings as she’s probably the most popular character in Emmerdale history.”
