Coronation Street Spoilers: Billy Mayhew Attends Funeral Of His Former Lover Drew – Will He Choose To Raise Summer?

Corrie spoilers tease that it will be a bittersweet summer for Rev. Billy Mayhew (Daniel Brocklebank) on, “Coronation Street.” He must bury his ex-lover Drew (Tom Godwin), and take responsibility for the man’s young daughter, Summer. But how will he deal with his current partner’s resistance to being a parent?

When Drew showed up on Billy’s doorstep last month the reverend’s boyfriend Todd (Bruno Langley) thought the worst of the ex: how dare he try to break up our relationship?

But Drew’s sudden appearance was for a much darker reason. Drew informed Billy that he was dying, and asked him to take care of his daughter, Summer. Could Billy possibly deny his friend’s dying wish?

Summer is adorable, and an innocent child in need of care. But Billy and Todd have been at odds over the prospect of raising a child together.

To his credit, Todd has been adamant in his claims that he is not ready to be responsible for child. But Billy has struggled to balance Todd’s honesty with his own moral conscience.

How could he abandon such a sweet and loving little girl? Unfortunately for the reverend, Todd has forced his hand by throwing down an ultimatum: choose Summer or choose me!

Explosive Corrie video reveals that the moment of truth has now arrived for the bereaved parties. Filming of Drew’s emotional funeral has begun with devastated Billy supported by a somber-looking Todd.

Both men arrive to the cemetery in dark formal attire, with Billy holding a huge bouquet of white lilies. Summer is also in attendance, dressed in dark clothing, but unable to hide her delight at seeing Billy.

The funeral scenes will air in June, as Corrie taping usually takes place about two months in advance. What lies in store for Billy and Todd? Summer is Billy’s goddaughter; will he be able to send her away?
