Coronation Street News: Corrie Cast Salaries Leaked – Guess Who The Highest Earner Is!

Guess again if you think you know just who the highest paid star on ITV’s popular soap, “Coronation Street,” is. The Corrie actor with the heftiest paycheck most likely will surprise you. Hint: it’s not everyone’s favorite brunette heroine! Kym Marsh may be one of the biggest and brightest stars on the cobbles, and while her salary is stellar it’s not top-notch.

According to The Sun, the title of Corrie’s biggest earner belongs to none other than Jack P. Shepherd who plays David Platt. The actor reportedly makes £200,000 annually for his portrayal of Platt. Coming in at second place in the payroll race is Marsh, who is said to earn £150,000 a year for her portrayal of Michelle Connor.

Shepard is believed to be on a pay par with two other longtime cast members, Barbara Knox (Rita Tanner) and William Roache (Ken Barlow). A bit lower down the ladder is Helen Flanagan, portrayer of Rosie Webster, who apparently earns £120,000 a year.

Connor joined the soap in 2006 and most recently won high praise for her role as a mother navigating sorrow in the aftermath of a stillbirth. Connor has been vocal about how challenging the scenes were in light of the fact that her own son died in 2009, shortly after his premature birth.

The reveal of top CS salaries comes on the heels of news regarding, “EastEnders,” salaries. How do the two competing soaps match up in terms of rewarding its employees? According to published reports Danny Dyer is the BBC One’s top earner, bringing home £400,000 a year for his portrayal of Mick Carter. Yes, Dyer makes twice as much as his highest paid rival on CS. Wow!

Did we mention that the controversial actor was actually paid to not show up for work this year? In a soap-worthy plot twist, Dyer was AWOL from the soap starting in January, amid reports of questionable behavior. Dyer reportedly returned to the EE set last week, and is believed to be filming scenes once again.
