It looks like Coronation Street viewers have spoken and apparently, they want actor Bruno Langley to continue portraying his character Todd Grimshaw on the hit British soap. Bruno was recently fired from the show after he admitted to two charges of sexual assault.
According to reports, Bruno assaulted three different women at a music venue in Manchester back in October. He was given a 12-month community service sentence, 40 days in rehab and ordered to wear an electronic tag. What’s more, he must observe a curfew and pay a fine to his victims. Bruno’s last episode on Coronation Street is expected to air on December 24.
Yet, fans want to see him back on the show. They have been sending Bruno messages on social media to show their support. Some even took to Twitter to write, “Let the guy back on set Corrie bosses. He’s a very popular character and will be missed. It was a silly move and I’m sure he regrets it deeply,” along with, “He was drunk and stupid. How often has Corrie herself featured drunken behavior storylines?’’
So far Bruno Langley himself has not made any comments about the case or his future for that matter. But it’s safe to say that he won’t be back as his character Todd Grimshaw in Weatherfield. Coronation Street producers have made it pretty clear that their decision has been made as a final one and that they won’t be reversing it anytime soon.
