Coronation Street Billy Mayhew’s Dark Past Revealed – Angel or Devil?

Coronation Street fans are about to discover that Weatherfield vicar Billy Mayhew (Daniel Brocklebank) has a set of horns as well as a halo. The man of the cloth isn’t all sweetness and light and when his dark side rears its ugly head, expect a bombshell to blow up the cozy domesticity he’s worked so hard to cultivate.

Handsome Billy debuted to audiences in late 2014 and by the summer of 2016 he had become involved with Todd (Bruno Langley). Theirs has been an on again/off again affair, and the relationship was sorely tested when a blast from the past turned Billy’s world upside down.

When Billy’s ex, Drew (Tom Godwin), turned up in town this spring, Todd pitched a fit thinking that the man wanted to rekindle an old flame.

But sadly Drew’s reason for popping up had to do with a terminal illness and a request for Todd. Drew wanted the vicar to take formal guardianship of Summer (Matilda Freeman), his godchild. How could Billy say no?

Although Summer is as adorable a child as they come, Todd wasn’t sure he was ready to become a father figure, leading to lots of strife between he and Billy. Further complicating matters was an evil grandmother who didn’t want the two men to take Summer.

But just as it looked like the trio would enjoy a happily ever after, show execs have thrown a wrench into the works!

Corrie exec Kate Oates teases that in the months leading up to year’s end, Billy will be seen for the incredibly fallible human being that he truly is.

In true soapy fashion, Oates dropped a couple of juicy hints about the shocking development to The Metro but kept the best details close to the vest.
