According to the Mirror, “Beth broke down in court as Nathan was found guilty of rape and conspiracy to commit rape – as was dodgy policeman Neil and the other two who gang-raped Bethany after paying Nathan for the use of her body.’
This arduous ordeal cost Bethany her dignity, her self-worth and her self-esteem. Nathan might have been found guilty, but Bethany is the one who has to live with the consequences of what happened.

The Mirror continues, “Struggling to process the ordeal, she said to her mother Sarah Platt afterwards: ‘I know that it’s over, I know it is but I can’t forget. I’ve still got the memories and I don’t want them. When will it stop hurting, Mum?’ It’s a bittersweet moment for Beth, who is now able to return to Milan in Italy to escape the incident, while her fellow victim Lara Cutler wasn’t so lucky – the ordeal prompting her to throw herself in front of a train.”
Bethany can now live her life free of Nathan’s hold. She’ll always carry the memories of what happened to her, but maybe, one day when all is said and done, Bethany could live a fulfilling life.
Perhaps.
What do you think? Should Bethany pack her bags and leave? She has nothing holding her back anymore, so why stay? As usual, your thoughts are welcome in the comments below.
