Why We Think 'The Young and the Restless' Should Put Michael E. Knight on Contract!

Let’s face it “The Young and the Restless” star Michael E. Knight is a very talented actor, he displayed his fantastic acting abilities throughout the years playing Tad Martin on the now defunct “All My Children”. Tad was loved by many fans and his pairing with Dixie Cooney (Cady McClain) was very popular.  His portrayal of the character of Tad Martin got him about 7 nominations in the Daytime Emmy’s out of which he won 3 times most recently in 2001 in the Outstanding Supporting actor category.

Upon the cancellation of “All My Children” on ABC, Knight did return to the show when it was picked up by Prospect Park and he appeared on a few primetime series. Knight made his debut on “Y&R” as Dr. Simon Neville in 2015, an unorthodox doctor. His first set of scenes was mostly with Gwen (Nadine Nicole) and Neil (Kristoff St. John). Although the actor stated that he was original cast for a small number of episodes, the team at “The Young and the Restless” obviously likes his work and has extended the amount of episodes he will appear in. Even with the extension he is still on recurring with the show.  Personally I think the show should now put Michael on contract since his character is well talked about across the internet. For one, in an episode this week Ashley (Eileen Davidson) kissed him there was just steam coming through the TV Screen, they obviously got great chemistry.

The show doesn’t even have a resident doctor, since we hardly see Dr. Barton Shelby (Terrell Tilfod) and Dr. Stitch Rayburn (Sean Carrigan) is so caught up with his marriage with Abby (Melissa Ordway) and the return of his son. Dr. Neville, even though he uses unorthodox methods has proven to be successful in his patient’s recovery, just ask Hilary (Mishael Morgan). Michael E. Knight’s character could becomes the show resident doctor and have a blazing romance with Ashley and wouldn’t it be crazy if later on it turns out that Dr. Neville is Dr. Anderson’s (Elizabeth Bogush) Father?

What are your thoughts on this? Should “The Young and the Restless” put Knight on contract? Should they explore a relationship with Simon & Ashley?
