Chelsea (Melissa Claire Egan) is deeply vulnerable. And, she needs friends now that her husband has been sent to prison. That’s why it’s possible Chelsea will be open to bonding with Chloe (Elizabeth Hendrickson) when she reestablishes personal connections in Genoa City on ‘The Young and the Restless’.
At one time, Chelsea and Chloe were very close. Then, the death of Delia (Sophie Pollono) enabled Chloe and Billy (then played by Billy Miller) to donate their daughter’s corneas to Chelsea and Adam’s (then played by Michael Muhney) son Connor. However, Adam’s apparent role in Delia’s death forced many relationships to dramatically shift.
Over time grief-ravaged Chloe’s mind. Eventually, she kidnapped Connor and took him to Paris, France. That incident, combined with the relentless rage Chloe directed toward Adam, strained her bond with Chelsea. However, their friendship didn’t fully break, it was only fractured on ‘The Young and the Restless’. Then, Chloe sought mental health treatment in California.

The writers on ‘The Young and the Restless’ enabled Adam’s return from the dead by giving him Hartley’s new face via plastic surgery. After the Adam reveal played out, he was at Chancellor Park attending a memorial service for Delia. Unbeknownst to everyone, Chloe was there as well in disguise. After stepping from the background, she took out a gun and aimed it at Adam. But, Chelsea talked her down. Later, Chloe tried to run Adam down outside of the courthouse just after he’d been convicted and sentenced to 10 years in prison for Delia’s accidental murder. Chelsea learned Chloe was responsible for that crime and turned her into the police, who transferred her to a supposedly secure health care facility.
It was recently revealed that Victor (Eric Braeden) had been funding the care of Chloe’s second-born daughter Bella (Cali May Kinder), who is either Billy’s (Jason Thompson), or Kevin’s (Greg Rikaart), child, while she was being treated. A plot telegraph was then offered to viewers. Chelsea and Kevin joined forces in an attempt to solve the mystery of a disguised woman who met with Victor in prison and signed herself into Walworth using the name Dorothy Gale.

Entertainment connoisseurs, or search engine users, know that the character Dorothy Gale (Judy Garland) comes from the classic film ‘The Wizard of Oz’, based on the work of L. Frank Baum. And, of course, Delia played the Wicked Witch in her school play on the night that she died. So, even if Chelsea reestablishes a friendship with Chloe in the summer of 2016, it will only be a matter of time before she, Kevin, or someone blows Chloe’s cover. When that happens, a tornado (of emotion) will surely touch down in Genoa City, just as one did on a farm in Kansas, in then-revolutionary technicolor in 1939.
