‘The Young and the Restless’ Spoilers Wednesday, December 14: Victor Wants To Quit Newman, Shocks Family – Hilary Seeks Opportunities – Sharon Supports Dylan

“The Young and the Restless” spoilers for Wednesday, December 14, tease that Mariah (Camryn Grimes) will struggle to get over her embarrassment. At Sharon’s (Sharon Case) house, Mariah has a shiner and can’t believe she looked like such an idiot. Dylan (Steve Burton) gets a smile out of Mariah with an intentional fall. Faith (Alyvia Alyn Lind) looks at social media and says Mariah is trending.

At the athletic club, Lily (Christel Khalil) urges Devon (Bryton James) to leave Hilary (Mishael Morgan) out of GC Buzz. Her vision doesn’t line up with his. Devon worries about not having a host. He eventually meets up with Mariah and asks her to return to the show. Devon promises they won’t air live segments anymore.

Mariah still isn’t interested, but Devon practically begs. She agrees to do it until Devon finds a replacement. After that, Mariah will get a pay increase and become a segment producer. Meanwhile, Hilary talks to Jack (Peter Bergman) at the park. She mentions that Devon has been far too judgmental lately.

Hilary thinks Devon should’ve asked her to come back after Mariah’s spectacle. Jack believes Hilary should find a new gig elsewhere and she’s not opposed to the idea. Hilary would like to host another show. She confesses that the support she’s received has been nice.

Jack assures Hilary that she’s good at what she does, but she doesn’t trust his praise since they’re friends. He hints that a neutral party could offer a second opinion. Jack’s friend, Barry, sits down with Hilary later. This agent admits he’s impressed by Hilary’s presence on camera.

Hilary fibs that she departed GC Buzz to pursue opportunities on her own. Barry thinks Hilary’s future is bright. At the Newman ranch, Victor (Eric Braeden) and Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) return home from New York. Nick (Joshua Morrow) shows up with Christian and wonders if they can babysit.

Victor mentions The Underground and urges Nick to give Noah (Robert Adamson) control. He’d like for Nick to come back to Newman Enterprises. Nick points out that it never goes well when he works with his father. Victor hints that maybe he could step back from his role there.

Nick and Nikki aren’t convinced that he would really walk away, but Victor claims it’s an option. Sharon brings Faith over and Nikki is irked. She gripes about how Dylan was treated and rushes Sharon off. Once Nikki returns to the rest of the gang, she plays the piano while Faith sings “Jingle Bells.”

Victor shares some sweet moments with Faith as he reflects on Christmas memories. Nick and Nikki notice Victor’s softer side. They wonder if Victor meant it when he said he might leave Newman. It sounds like “The Young and the Restless” could be headed down an interesting path.

At GC Buzz, Mariah is horrified when she steps back on the red carpet. She’s haunted by her terrible fall and gives Devon the news that she can’t host. Hilary arrives and Devon reluctantly suggests they can work through their differences. She doesn’t approve of his controlling nature.

Barry calls Devon and notes that offers are pouring in for Hilary. He wants to confirm that her contract has been terminated. Across town, Sharon and Dylan spend some time together at the park café. Dylan opens up about being on the outside of the Newman clan. Sharon offers reassurance and promises she’s there for Dylan. He’s glad they’re sticking together.

Later, Sharon gives Dylan another dose of encouragement. She points out that Faith is Dylan’s daughter as well. Sharon emphasizes that they’re a family and shares a hug with her husband. Y&R rumors hint that tough times lie ahead for Sharon and Dylan. Stay tuned for updates on the trouble they’ll face.
