‘The Young and the Restless’ Spoilers: Victor Has Wronged Jack – He’s Wise To Be Suspicious

Victor (Eric Braeden) knows that he wronged Jack (Peter Bergman) on ‘The Young and the Restless’. It’s wise of him to be suspicious of a rival, even though he considers him to be a lesser man. As fall takes hold, the ‘Moustache’ rightly is preparing for yet another daytime skirmish. How those battles play out will affect two companies and the families that built both empires.

So, Victor believed that Jack was trying to damage Newman Enterprises awhile ago. He thought the ‘Paragon Project’ was Jack’s doing. Instead, it turned out to be a scheme that Ian (Ray Wise) and Adam (Justin Hartley) had concocted.

The fallout from that miscalculation resulted in Jack being replaced by a doppelganger who was a Peruvian drug lord. Marco Anaselli (Peter Bergman) had his jail term erased by Victor and then assumed Jack’s life in Genoa City. Phyllis (Gina Tognoni) noticed many odd things about the man she thought was her husband during that time, but truly can’t be blamed for not knowing the difference. Soap’s suspension of disbelief scenario and the seeming impossibility of that development gave ‘Red’ a pass among all seasoned souls.

Fast-forward more than a year and Jack has learned that ‘Philly’ existed. Yes, the aftereffects of the Marco mess created a dynamic that led to ‘Phack’s’ troubles. But, Phyllis can’t be given the same type of consideration at this point as she was in 2015. As for Jack’s brother, he’s just a reckless cad. At a time in Jack’s life when he needed his younger sibling’s help, Billy (Jason Thompson) betrayed him. And, the realization of that terrible fact won’t be forgotten or forgiven any time soon.

Jack decided to shut Phyllis out and move on. She’s still working at Jabot, but he’s turned his full attention to opposition research involving Newman Enterprises. He’s preparing to fight Victor on the corporate battlefield, but hasn’t yet gained an opening. Despite past losses, viewers shouldn’t count Jack out this time around.
