“The Young and the Restless” spoilers for Tuesday, January 5, tease that suspicions will continue to swirl about Billy’s (Burgess Jenkins) accident. At the police station, Paul (Doug Davidson) tells Kevin (Greg Rikaart) that Marisa (Sofia Pernas) is the only one who saw what happened. However, Paul isn’t sure Marisa is telling him everything she knows.
Paul brings in the bookie, Gil, for questioning and mentions Billy’s texts to a burner phone. Kevin texts the number and Gil’s phone goes off. Paul tells Gil to start talking or he’ll get locked up. Gil admits he had a scuffle with Billy, but he didn’t run over him. Paul says they’re going to check his car to be sure he’s telling the truth.
At the penthouse, Billy’s kids are playing upstairs. Chelsea (Melissa Claire Egan) and Adam (Justin Hartley) talk about how Billy and Victoria (Amelia Heinle) are meant to be together. Adam tells Chelsea she should go see how Billy is doing.
At the hospital, Billy is in cardiac arrest and Dr. Shelby (Terrell Tilford) is trying to stabilize him. Victoria yells at Billy to stay with her, but Dr. Shelby insists that Victoria needs to leave the room. Nearby, Noah (Robert Adamson) tells Victor (Eric Braeden) about the accident. Victor suggests that the bookie will be held responsible for Billy’s condition.
Noah declares that he doesn’t run from his actions, but Victor warns him about the potential consequences. Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) walks over and wonders if Noah is OK. Noah replies that he’s just concerned about Billy. After Nikki wanders off, Noah tells Victor that Marisa saw what happened.
Jack (Peter Bergman) gives Traci (Beth Maitland) updates on the accident. Jill (Jess Walton) flies into a rage and says that the Abbotts have been waiting on Billy to fail. Nikki tries to pipe up, but Jill shuts her down. Jill says Victor always treated Billy poorly and Nikki stood by him through it all. Jill lashes out at Victoria for bailing on Billy after Deliah’s (Sophie Pollono) death. She thinks Victoria always chooses Victor over Billy.
Jill finally says that they all turned their backs on Billy. Nikki argues that Billy’s gambling was the reason for his injuries. Jill sobs over her pain and states that she needs someone to blame. Dr. Shelby comes out and says that Billy is stable. He asks if Victoria is the next of kin, but Jill snaps that Victoria gave up that right. Jill indicates that she’ll take care of whatever is needed.
Chelsea stops by and offers Victoria some comfort. Victoria talks about how proud she was when Billy forgave Adam, but he returned to the same dark place when Adam got off the hook. Chelsea insists that Billy needs Victoria right now.
In Billy’s room, Ashley (Eileen Davidson) tells Billy that she’s the one who’s supposed to die. Traci overhears and asks what Ashley means. Ashley says the youngest shouldn’t die first. Traci believes that Billy has John’s (Jerry Douglas) fight in him and he’s going to make it. Jack comes in and indicates that he’s sorry he let Billy down. Jack says if Billy will come back to them, he’ll stand by him forever.
Jill gives everyone the news that Billy needs surgery to release the pressure in his brain. Unfortunately, Billy only has a 50-50 chance of surviving the procedure. Victoria goes to Billy and tells him that he his kids need him. She begs Billy to come back to her and alludes to their forever love. As everyone gathers, Jack says brief prayer for Billy.
Other “Young and the Restless” spoilers reveal that Marisa will worry about Billy’s fate. When she fears that maybe she didn’t do enough to help him, Luca (Miles Gaston Villanueva) asks why Marisa cares. Luca starts talking about his plan with Adam, but Marisa still doesn’t think it’s a good idea. Adam could turn on him. Luca counters that he knows what he’s doing.
A short time later, Victor offers a warning to Marisa about watching what she says. Marisa hints that they both want to protect Noah. Meanwhile, Adam and Luca discuss their deal. Luca tells Adam to go ahead and report the information on Victor. Adam reminds Luca that they agreed to report their fathers at the same time. Luca states that he’ll move forward when he has enough info.
Victor enters and wonders what they’re talking about. They come up with a story to cover their plot and Luca leaves. Adam tells Victor that they’ll be rid of the Santori family in no time. Adam adds that Newman Enterprises will be run by the one who should be running it. Y&R rumors suggest that Adam could be stirring up more trouble than he bargained for.
Elsewhere, Noah tells Marisa that he doesn’t like keeping this secret, but he thinks he should do it for Victoria’s sake. Marisa says Noah should change his tires and no one will have to know. They share a hug as Luca watches nearby. Will Luca retaliate after witnessing this tender moment? Stick with the CBS soap to see what Luca’s next move will be.
