‘The Young and the Restless’ Spoilers: Summer Considers Victor’s Generous Offer

Summer (Hunter King) already has a fortune in her trust fund on ‘The Young and the Restless’. So, she’s considering Victor’s (Eric Braeden) generous offer to guide her career for reasons that extend far beyond money matters. Accepting her grandfather’s work proposal to remain with the company isn’t a simple decision, as family members who agree to work at Newman Enterprises are always asked to pay some type of personal price.

Victor was open with Summer when he asked her to return to his company. He told his granddaughter that he valued her loyalty, while also noting that his other family members hadn’t been as stalwart as she was during his time in prison. Summer understood that her grandfather was looking for an ally moving forward.

Viewers of ‘The Young and the Restless’ have often been split when it comes to their feelings about the ‘Great Man’. Some see him purely as a self-centered snake who will ruthlessly cut anyone’s throat, regardless of whether that person has wronged him. Others understand that Victor’s experience in the orphanage indelibly shaped his life and that his business decisions often appear to be more cold than they actually are.

Summer is a trusting soul. In the past, she impulsively leaped into a relationship with Austin Travers (Matthew Atkinson) that proved to be both disastrous and deadly. Now, this year on ‘The Young and the Restless’, she allowed her head to be turned by Luca Santori (Miles Gaston Villanueva). Of course, he’s already proven to be untrustworthy. But, it remains possible that he does truly care for Summer, regardless of whatever his intentions are regarding Victor’s business.

Of course, Summer isn’t naive about Victor. She knows that agreeing to work by his side would create certain consequences. However, she’s been forced to mature within the last few years and does appear ready to embrace a high-end corporate challenge. Consideration of the position itself isn’t the main point. Instead, it’s the aura surrounding the man who’s offered this plumb slot that must be carefully surveyed.
