‘The Young and the Restless’ Spoilers: Sharon Remains Her Own Worst Enemy – Enablers Also Share Blame

'The Young and the Restless' Spoilers: Sharon Remains Her Own Worst Enemy – Enablers Also Share Blame

Sharon (Sharon Case) created her own problems on ‘The Young and the Restless’. Enablers will react with instant emotion, bypassing logic like an oncoming exit on the highway that was missed due to distracted driving. Yet, only the irresponsible fuel destructive personality types instead of confronting bad behavior whenever it arises.

Genoa City, like all areas of the country, are filled with excuse-makers. These politically incorrect thinkers jump to the defense of anyone who’s in trouble. Attacking responsible souls for merely trying to help people like Sharon deal with daytime reality.

Focusing on Sandy (Elizabeth Bogush) is a distraction. No one denies that deceased criminal is the origin of the Sully (Jamie and Alister Tobias) scheme. However, Dr. Anderson didn’t avoid visiting Sharon for months when she was being held prisoner at Fairview. No, her family is responsible for not forcing regular contact during that time no matter what paper was signed. Dylan (Steve Burton), Noah (Robert Adamson) and Mariah (Camryn Grimes) share blame for their negligence, regardless of whatever they were told by Sandy about staying away.

Poor Patty (Stacy Haiduk) had more gumption than those three characters combined. She’s the one who saw what was happening and eventually did something about it. Her act of self-defense against Sandy was also fully justified and deserves completed legal exoneration.

Sharon’s subsequent behavior must also be directly addressed. After Sandy allowed her to leave Fairview with Sully, Sharon’s cloudy mind cleared. Then, she had a DNA test conducted and learned that Christian never died. Her free will actions drove the storyline from there, which included emotionally blackmailing Mariah to be her cover-up girl.

Now that Sharon is facing charges, she deserves consideration. However, she doesn’t deserve to be automatically cleared. Christine’s (Lauralee Bell) full review will allow the Genoa City District Attorney’s office to determine what, if any, legal action should be pursued. All emotional pleas on Sharon’s behalf should be heard, but shouldn’t stand as the only points in this play. And then justice should be applied in whatever form the United States justice system decides is best. Logic must be injected into Sharon’s life in order to hopefully set her on a straighter path.
